Discussions on Restoration of Dental Implants

I am a dental laboratory technician and my question is about connecting a natural tooth with an implant into a three-unit bridge.

When I checked the angulation of the implant after I had finished placing it, the implant was angled too far to the labial.

Can we re-use the implant healing cap or cover screw? We were told by one of the dentists in our group practice to clean the healing screws using the ultrasonic cleaner for 20 minutes and fix back again to the same patient without sterilizing.

When I placed the abutments I found that I had inadequate inter-arch space for an ideal fixed partial denture restoration.

I placed a Nobel Biocare Replace Select implant and the screw fractured. I need to retrieve the most apical portion of the screw which is lodged firmly inside the implant fixture.

I have not been able to try in the abutments and bar for my implant overdenture patient because of interference from the gingiva.

What do the long-term studies show in terms of benefits of the internal over the external hex?

Do all abutment screws eventually loosen and have to be re-tightened?

What I am planning now is to use only standard abutments and prepare them as though they were natural teeth. I hope to avoid using custom abutments as much as possible.

There are many different views on cement retention of implant crowns and fixed partial dentures. What is everyone using?

I plan to make final impressions at the abutment level and then insert the permanent bridges. In the past I made implant level impressions and then inserted the permanent abutments and bridges at the same time. Anything wrong with making abutment level impressions like I am planning?

I read an article in the current issue of JOMI on the Accuracy of Different Impression Techniques for Internal-Connection Implants which described a technique for making implant level impressions on slightly malaligned implant fixtures.
