I attempted a maxillary sinus lift through a lateral window approach and unfortunately I tore the membrane. What is the best course of action now?

Then at 3.5 to 4 weeks patient returns with a moderate size swelling in the upper side where the sinus lift was performed.

I am interested in other techniques to control bleeding during a sinus lift with a lateral window approach.

I did a sinus lift two and half weeks ago. There was a rupture of the sinus membrane in the mesial part of the sinus not more than 4 mm.

Have other Drs seen acute/chronic post nasal drip or watery discharge occurring after sinus lift augmentation?

My question is, considering the roots are fused, is it possible to do the extraction, the sinus lift with summers technique and place the implant (if achieving the right stability) all at the same time?

I wish to avoid doing a maxillary sinus lift and bone graft. How can I do this?

I would like to hear some opinions on how to manage a maxillary sinus augmentation in the premolar-molar region when the adjacent 2nd molar is still present and the sinus floor is very flat extending from the proposed implant sites back past the second molar region.

I have done a lateral window sinus lift , during which I had a significant perforation towards the end of the procedure.

I use the Summers Lift even when the implant fixtures extend over 2mm in to the sinus. I have not yet experienced complications from this approach. Am I pushing this technique too far?

I have treatment planned a bilateral external sinus lift on a patient. While I was reviewing the CBVT scan I noticed on the lower part of the maxillary sinus an apparent thickening of the sinus membrane of about 5mm.

My surgeon has told me that after he does these procedures I will have to wait 9 -12 months for the bone grafts to completely heal before he can go in and place the implant fixtures.

I was wondering if I would decrease my chance for post-operative infection if I mix an antibiotic with the bone graft material?

I am planning on using osteotomes to fracture the floor of the sinus and elevate it 4mm in order to gain adequate bone height to place 4.1x8mm tapered implants.

When I viewed the immediate post-op panoramic radiograph, I noticed that I had packed in a bit more graft than I really needed and this appears to have obliterated part of the maxillary sinus cavity.
