Dental Implant from Brazil: identify?

My patient had an implant installed in her mandibular right first molar site 6 years ago in Brazil. There has been some bone loss. She wants this implant restored now. She has been a patient of record here for 3 years. I have not been able to identify the implant. Does anyone recognize the implant? Any other thoughts on the case?

I don't know the implant but I would like to know opinions on restoring a six year old implant with bone loss to several threads. Is it better to repair the bone loss first? It appears there is a circumferential bone defect. What is acceptable and what if this implant fails if untreated?

Agree CRS happened to me once restored and failed 4 months later and patient said must of been my fault as it had been OK for the years before , ( prior to loading ) ........... so go through that first . Looks like an external Hex Implant , hard to tell as many copy types . BUt as for bone loss can actually improve when loaded as long term with an exposure will do this ....

So perhaps a well worded consent with no guarentee of outcome. Would you treat the bone loss or just restore? This has a lot of red flags to avoid.

Hard to say from the X-Ray but it looks like a SIN Revoution implant. You can checkout their website

Looks like a Titanium Fix external Hex implant. Fairly popular in Brazil. Compatible with the old branemarks.

Not a SIN implant. Some other brand. Anyway it looks like a wide platform Branemark Ext hex (5mm body; 3.4mm hex). Probably a good idea to disinfect and graft prior to restore.

You may want to contact Straumann, they recently purchases NeoDent one of the largest implant manufacturers in Brazil. They have a Branemark clone as one of their main platforms. Pretty impressive company, I visited with them at their booth at the AO a couple of years ago.

Looks like torri on the X-ray. The patient is a bruxer. I would evaluate the patient for diet and smoking. The bone loss could also be due to lack of stimulation of the bone around the implant. Get a decent medical work up on the patient, inclusive of a hepatitis profile.

Go to whatimplantisthat.com and try to compare the X-ray to identify the implant's brand! Hope it will help
