Digital impressions for Implant Restorations?

Considering digital impressions for implant restorations? Advantages are that they eliminate the need for trays and impression material and can be transmitted directly to the dental lab. But are they accurate enough? According to this study they are. What do you think?

Conclustion: Digital implant impressions are as accurate as conventional implant impressions. The splinted, implant-level impression technique is more accurate than the non-splinted one for completely edentulous patients, whereas there was no difference in the accuracy at the abutment level. The implant angulation up to 15° did not affect the accuracy of implant impressions.

We have been using Digital Implant Impressions since mid 2015. I feel that they are as accurate as tray impressions. I've never had a problem with any inaccuracies.

I use an Tier and love the results.Great accuracy and a clean efficient workflow. There are limitations to the system i.e.full arches, but otherwise i would not go back to impressions ever.

Chairside Magazine just published our article on digital impressions for implants. The cases just drop in with almost no adjustments. Excellent results, quicker and easier treatment. I'm not a dentist. Just a consumer with dental problems. I have a terrible choking gagging fear of those impression trays.i've been reading about this digital impression taking. Could they be used for dentures or bridges?

The technology is not there yet for the fabrication of complete dentures, but partial dentures and bridges are totally possible.

I did not expect a response. Thanks! Ok next question. I live in Los Angeles in the South Bay Area. Do you know of a specialist around here that could or does take digital impressions for a bridge or partial denture?
