Immediate extraction replacement (also called the emergency implant) is an option applied when patients present themselves with an unrestorable tooth, especially in the esthetic zone where they want something that will allow them to engage in social situations without a missing tooth.
When presented properly, this option is one that patients most like.
What this presentation will discuss are the principles for predictability to achieve long-term predictable repeated results: the extraction techniques; grafting sites; proper placements of the implants; provisionalization; and final restoration.
Presenter: Dr. Jack Hahn
Dr. Jack Hahn is a well-recognized pioneer in the field of implant dentistry. He brings more than thirty years of experience to participants of courses in surgical placement and prosthetic restoration of dental implants. Dr. Hahn has developed implant devices and techniques that are used today throughout the world. He is involved in various clinical studies and recently concluded a fifteen-year titanium study and a twelve-year hydroxylapatite study. Dr. Hahn is now participating in a Replace ® Select Tapered Implant multicenter study.
Dr. Hahn is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology and has recently been appointed as a board examiner. He is an Honored Fellow and Diplomate of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and recipient of the 2004 Aaron Gershkoff lifetime achievement award. He is a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantology, Fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration, and Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. He is a founding Member and Master Clinician of the Academy of Implant Prosthodontics. Dr. Hahn is a visiting lecturer at several universities, and for the past three years is the Clinical Director of the Chicago Center of Advanced Implant Dentistry in Moscow, Russia, and the Ukraine. Dr. Hahn has a private practice in Cincinnati, Ohio, at The Cosmetic and Implant Dental Center. His practice is limited to implant surgical placement and restoration.
