*Advantages of 3D over 2D

The Panoramic X-ray imaging technology was developed to provide better Dental diagnoses and treatments to patients. However, the limitations of its 2D plane image would not have been overcome if dentistry had not adopted the 3D multi-plane reconstruction algorithm of computerized tomography (CT).

The advantage of Dental CBCT & 3D Software of E-WOO is that, it enables you to evaluate clinical cases; bone quality, Maxillary sinus, TMJ, incisive foramen, and mandibular canal which have brought on a qualitative revolution of dental radio-therapeutics.

A medical CT has a slice thickness of 1~2mm, while a Picasso offers a slice thickness to a minimum of 0.1mm.

* Low Radiation Dosage of Picasso

The radiation dosage of Picasso is considerably less than that of a medical CT.

For implant surgery, to capture a dental arch where 40 slices are required, a Medical CT can capture 1 slice/sec. at 150kVp and 200mA; while a Picasso Dental CT captures images at only 80kVp and 5mA for 12~24 seconds.

Accordingly, the radiation dosage of Picasso is a hundredth less than that of a Medical CT. Picasso acquires a 3D image with just a single 360° rotation, just as with a Panoramic X-Ray.
