We are pleased to invite you to attend the 34th Annual USC International Periodontal & Implant Symposium. The focus of this year's symposium will be on negative outcomes, complications and failures of periodontal and implant therapy. Great strides have been made in developing advanced periodontal and implant therapies. Despite these advancements, negative outcomes remain a reality in clinical practice. Understanding the biological basis and technical reasons which result in negative outcomes is important in preventing them. It is equally important to learn about the latest strategies for managing complications and failures to reach the desired outcome.

Despite the significance of this area for every clinician, most meetings and conferences are dedicated to discussing positive outcomes and very little has been devoted to negative outcomes. A panel of internationally renowned speakers will review and discuss the biological and technical basis of negative outcomes, complications and failures and will present the latest strategies to manage them. The program boasts four days with a diverse range of educational opportunities. These include two all-day programs, with hands-on workshops on models and cadavers. There is also a full-day program dedicated to dental hygienists. Although the majority of the general-session presentations are interdisciplinary in nature, there are also sessions designated as "Surgical Track" and "Restorative Track" that focus on specific disciplines. This is an educational opportunity not to be missed by the entire oral healthcare team, including specialists, restorative dentists and dental hygienists.
