THE BICON DESIGN for dental implants is driven by simplicity. One of the cornerstones of that simplicity is the innovation of short implants.
When the Bicon system was first introduced in 1985, its 8.0mm length implants were considered quite short - most other dental implants were at least 12-14mm and sometimes 18-20mm long! Since then, the natural progression of Bicon’s design philosophy has resulted in 5.0mm, 5.7mm, and 6.0mm short implants, all with proven clinical success.
This course will demonstrate the science behind the practical application of short implants and the basic principles of the Bicon surgical and restorative techniques. Additionally, an overview of advanced surgical techniques that provide the opportunity to avoid complex grafting procedures will be shown. The course will also demonstrate innovative sinus augmentation techniques including the transalveolar technique.
Curriculum Includes:
* Introduction to the unique design and benefits of Bicon Short Implants
* Surgical placement procedures
* Use of Bicon Short Implants with internal and lateral sinus lift techniques
* The innovative transalveolar technique using Bicon Short Implants
Audience: New and experienced implant clinicians
Location: Varies
Tuition: FREE!

About the Bicon Institute
Since 1985, Bicon’s procedures and techniques have been successfully utilized by clinicians throughout the world. We welcome the opportunity to teach you about the Bicon System, as we have taught your colleagues, so that you too can provide your patients with the exceptional benefits of the Bicon System.
Clinicians for whom the Bicon system is a new experience should be impressed with the flexibility, forgivingness and facility with which Bicon implants can be placed and restored — even in very challenging clinical situations.
Bicon’s beneficial surgical attributes include: sub-crestal placement of implants, harvesting of bone with slow-speed osteotomy preparation without irrigation, and the use of narrow and short implants to avoid vital structures. These clinical benefits are directly related to the implant’s elegant plateaued design, which provides cortical-like bone with central vascular systems around the implant.
Hopefully, through attending our courses and learning about Bicon, you and your patients will enjoy the many benefits of the Bicon system, such as never again having to apologize for a dark metallic gum line even when an implant is less than ideally positioned.
