HANDS-ON PORCINE LABORATORY WITH MAXILLA MODEL (1/2 Day)
Participants will practice on fresh porcine maxilla models, with the latest implant designs, microsurgical hand instruments, bovine filler materials, resorbable and non-resorbable sutures, and dermal allogragraft.
* Full and Partial Thickness Flap Management
* Apical Repositioned Flap and Soft Tissue Graft Harvest
* rhBMP-2/INFUSE bone graft. Tunneling Procedure and Graft Placement
* Soft Tissue Autograft and Allograft Management
* Suturing Methods
Each workstation is equipped with implant drill unit, dental implants, fresh porcine maxilla model, hand instruments, bone filler material, suture materials and all disposable materials.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
* Treatment plan clinical scenarios requiring soft tissue grafting around implants
* Identify the advantages and disadvantages of various surgical approaches
* Decision making based on outcome of available soft tissue protocols
About the Speaker

Dr. Sascha A. Jovanovic was formally trained in periodontics at UCLA School of Dentistry, in Implant Dentistry at Loma Linda University and in Prosthodontics at University of Aachen, Germany and holds a Master of Sciences degree in Oral Biology from UCLA.
He restricts his clinical work to dental implant therapy and bone & soft tissue reconstruction, is Lecturer at UCLA Continuing Dental Education, is Professor (Hon.) at Univ. of British Columbia, Division of Periodontics and Implants, Vancouver, is Assoc. Prof. (Hon.) at the University of Hong Kong, Department of Oral Surgery and is Founder and Academic Chairman of the gIDE Institute.
He is the past-president of the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO) and a past-Board member of the Osseointegration Foundation (OF). He was the program chair of the EAO 2000 annual scientific congress, recipient of the young investigator fellowship of the American Academy of Periodontology, of the Implantology award of the California Society of Periodontists and of the German Implant Society Research award. He is an honorary member of the South African Society of Periodontology.
