Course Information

This seminar/workshop is designed to introduce you to one of the most exciting advancements in Dental Implantology: The Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) Membrane. Since its introduction, the use of this membrane has produced remarkable results with respect to the success rate of dental implants, especially in the most challenging cases.

The course will be presented by Joseph Choukroun, MD, internationally recognized pioneer in the research and development of PRF membranes, and the inventor of the process for producing PRF membranes that is considered to be the "Gold Standard" for this procedure.

The first half of the presentation will be devoted to presenting the background, science, research, applications and methodologies regarding this procedure. PRF membranes are autogenous matrices derived from the patient’s own blood. Inherent in this procedure is the fact that the membrane contains the natural proteins, growth factors and biological characteristics. There are no foreign or synthetic additives or preservatives, thus ensuring the highest degree of compatibility and biomimetic characteristics.

In addition to these factors, PRF Membranes have demonstrated the capacity for facilitating rapid healing, especially during the first critical seven days after implant placement.

Dr. Choukroun will also outline and illustrate in detail his methods for the chairside fabrication of PRF membranes and their subsequent clinical applications. You will be familiarized with the equipment, use of the membrane-forming apparatus and the various techniques for the multiple clinical applications that are suitable for the use of the PRF membrane.

Hands-On Session
During this workshop, you will become familiar with the equipment needed to produce PRF membranes and will participate in the actual production and handling of these membranes. The course will be supervised by Dr. Choukroun and an advisory staff who will be available to guide you through the procedures and answer any questions.

Limited Class Size
This course is limited in class size in order to maximize the personal attention that can be given to the participants. In addition, it facilitates the networking of the registrants, thus creating a more focused and interactive group.
