3D Diagnostix Launches New Surgical Guide Service

3D Diagnostix, Inc. has recently launched a new surgical guide trial service.

According to the company, if you are a computer-guided software user of Simplant, Nobel Procera, etc. then you can send over one of your treatment plans to 3D Diagnostix and get a free review and a surgical guide at a fixed discounted rate.

To shed more light on the new service we caught up with Mr. Karim Galil, the Sales VP of 3D Diagnostix, Inc. for an interview.

OsseoNews (ON): What can you tell us about this new service package?

Mr. Galil:
Most new services target either a new or existing segment of the market. What we are doing with this new service is that we are actually creating a new market segment that wasn't there before. Through these packages we will be able to help doctors get their surgical guides, for the first time, for fixed prices. It doesn't stop there either. The prices are going to be lower than what doctors are used to from the manufacturers. We will provide a free online review (fine tune) of the treatment plan with one of our dentists and we will take care of all communication with the guide manufacturer and ship back the guide after it has passed our quality control process. If you don't have your own treatment plan ready or don't own any software at all, we can still provide you with a preliminary treatment plan and proceed to get you the same flat-rate surgical guide package from there.

ON What are the factors behind launching this new service?

Mr. Galil: A big part of why we came up with this idea was to help doctors give their patient a quote for their surgical costs. Surgical guides have prices that are variable by type (pilot, full sequence, depth control) and the number of implants. That's a recipe for a billing mess. By offering guides at prices that are not only discounted, but also fixed, 3DDX is addressing an important obstacle in the way of many doctors to start using guides more often.

I would like to share a conversation I had with one of my clients who has been a user of computer guided software for years. He once told me that using this kind of software is like using MS-Excel. Everyone has Excel on their computer, everyone uses it, but only a few know how to use all the bells and whistles to make more than a simple table or graph and justify their investment. For that, you would need some expert advice. Having an expert at 3D Diagnostix review the case with the clinician, and shed some light over non-obvious tools and techniques will make the dentist more comfortable using the software, and get the most out of their investment.

ON: Who do you think will benefit the most from your new service?

Mr. Galil:
Well, obviously doctors who want to save some money. But seriously, as I said before, doctors who already are using guides and would like to use them for more cases will find this service very useful. Doctors who are just getting started with using guides will have a much smoother start and those who just starting to place implants will find this a perfect opportunity to get a head start with the most advanced technology of the field in an affordable way and with ease. They don't even need to have any software.

ON: How do you think this will impact the existing market?

Mr. Galil: Well, we believe this is creating a new market segment. Whereas before the market was focused on offering treatment planning and then surgical guides, those who preferred to do their own treatment plans were neglected. That's not the case anymore! Now a doctor can do his own treatment plan on his own software, can send it over to us to get free online fine tuning with our dentists and get his guide cheaper and hassle-free.

ON: How will it impact your other services?

Mr. Galil: Obviously this service compliments our other services, mostly 3D Conversions, Radiology Reports and Treatment Planning, in regards to still being able to take the doctor from CT scan to surgery step by step and provide the surgical guide at more affordable prices. If all you want is a good deal on guides and someone to provide exceptional support with it then we now have a place for you.
