Upper and Lower Full-Arch Implant Supported Fixed Restorations (All-on-4 Extra-Maxilla and Standard Techniques)

This 51-year-old female patient presented at the clinic with an extensive clinical history that included several extractions as well as severe periodontal disease.

The patient´s major complaints were tooth loss and difficulty chewing; the remaining teeth presented with mobility secondary to periodontal disease - which was clinically and radiographically confirmed. That, coupled with the previous extensive treatments, led to an unsatisfactory functional and aesthetic condition.

Taking into consideration the patient’s condition and desires, the MALO CLINIC team presented a comprehensive treatment plan: extraction of the remaining teeth and, in order to achieve an immediate aesthetic and functional rehabilitation, the simultaneous placement of 4 implants (utilizing the All-on-4^TM Concept which takes advantage of the higher quality and volume of bone in the anterior regions – standard approach/lower jaw – and in the extra-maxillary bone – Zygoma approach/upper jaw) and immediate fixed prostheses in both jaws.

After a 6-month osseointegration and remodeling period, two implant-supported final prostheses were placed - a MALO CLINIC Ceramic Bridge in the maxilla and a MALO CLINIC Acrylic Bridge in the mandible.

Prior to her implant reconstruction, the patient had an oral hygiene appointment for instructional and motivational purposes to help her understand the importance of a good oral hygiene for the long term success of her treatment.
