MIS SEVEN Dental Implants System Review

Summary

The MIS self-tapping Seven Implants are specially designed for implantation in a wide range of bone types and bone augmentation procedures. New geometric design includes dual threads, three spiral channels stemming from the apex, micro rings on the implants’ neck, and a changing thread thickness along the implant.

Benefits

  • Supplied with a single-use final-drill that reduces the heat produced during drilling, and results in improved osseointegration.
  • Shares a total surface roughness in the boundary of 1.8-2.2 Ra microns, and a micro geometry of titanium, that is achieved by sand blasting particles and acid-etching. A larger surface area increases the bone to implant contact, resulting in more area for bone-cell attachment.

Advice for Newbies: don't use final drill in the posterior mandible. in abundant bone have a bail out implant ready, you may have to use another manufacture (implant direct)

  4. Dr. Stuart Feuer says:
Pros: Very straightforward in both the implant and restorative phase. Reasonably price. Will exchange a unit for any reason (i.e. dropped on the floor during surgery).
Advice for Newbies: I am a newbie at implants (been a dentist for 29 years, however). I started placing implants 1 year ago, and have placed 27. My three points of advice are case selection, case selection, and case selection.

MIS has wonderful people working for them, and they have an education center in Teaneck, New Jersey, where they give some wonderful courses. I love the simplicity of the system. I started placing my own implants because I was tired of periodontists putting in whatever they wanted to, and having to deal with overly elaborate systems.

  5. Pros: Modern self tapping design. Large surface area. Versatile internal hex connection. Affordable. No questions asked return/replacement policy - GREAT PLUS for both beginner and advanced implant dentist. Complete and affordable restorative system.
Cons: Cannot do platform switching. Doesn't have narrowing of the neck like Nobel Active but MIS is working now on another Implant design which will allow those features.
Advice for Newbies: Buy 25 implants at $175 each and MIS will give you free surgical kit, Bond Bone graft material and free prosthetic kits. GREAT VALUE !!!
