Print This PostThis surgical video shows AlloDerm grafting using the Papilla Retention Pouch procedure to treat Class III recession in the mandibular arch. The recession is complicated by the presence of cervical notching and restorations. Use of the new end-cutting intrasulcular knife for the initial incision is demonstrated. Root preparation with a Varios 750 ultrasonic unit and a special safe-sided diamond tip is shown for reshaping the notched root surfaces following blunt reflection. The AlloDerm graft is sutured with 6-0 polypropylene suture using the subgingival double-back continuous sling suture method developed by Dr. Allen.

I would like to take one of Dr Allen’s courses if I can. I’d be interested in seeing if the zone of attached gingiva was increased in height or width or both. What about frenum heights and pull??? Are those detached if the frenum is contributing to recessional tissue pull?? I have used alloderm before as a tissue barrier and to increase the gingival thickness around implants.
