Armin Abron, DDS, MS is a specialist in Periodontics. His practice specializes in implant placement, bone grafting, sinus augmentation, conservative treatment of gum disease, including specialized interests in soft tissue reconstructive plastic surgery to aesthetically enhance the smile and dental implants that can replace single or multiple missing teeth. He uses the latest technology and science to treat periodontal disease including non-surgical, laser treatment (LANAP) as well as surgical modalities.

Dr. Abron earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (D.D.S.) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Abron then went on to complete a 3-year surgical residency in Periodontics at Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in New York, where he also obtained his Masters in Periodontics. This advanced training certified him to practice as a specialist in Periodontics and Implantology. In addition, during his residency at Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery, he practiced general dentistry in his spare time.

Dr. Abron is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontology in the School of Dentistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a faculty member he teaches residents in the implant clinic.

Throughout his career he has remained active in organized dentistry and has served organized dentistry in many leadership positions, as well as a speaker at national and international venues. He is an active member of the following professional organizations:

District of Columbia Dental Society

In addition, Dr. Abron has been involved in many research projects related to Implants and Periodontology and has been published in national and international journals, including the European Journal of Oral Science, Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, and Journal of Clinical Periodontology. This has enabled him to present his work at the national and international level.
