1 Stage vs 2 Stage Approach?

In this video, Dr. Simon talks about the 1 stage and 2 stage approaches to dental implant placement. When do we place simply a cover screw and when do we place a healing abutment and leaving it exposed? In the past, all implants were done with a 2 stage approach. Over the years, though, 1-stage implant placement has become more popular given the favorable clinical results. What has been your experience with each approach? What do you favor in your practice?
