Esthetic Crown Lengthening in an Implant Case
In this series of four videos, Dr. Simon describes a challenging case that involves 2 adjacent implants and tissue imbalance. The brief background of the case is that we are dealing with a young patient that tragically lost the upper left lateral incisor and an upper left canine. The reason for the loss of the teeth had to do with with a permanent canine that was badly impacted. In an attempt to bring this tooth in, there was damage to the lateral and the canine, so the patient ended up losing two strategically important teeth. As we know, when teeth are lost, there is extreme ridge resorption, and the extraction itself is relatively complex. After various consultations, the decision was made to place two implants to replace the lateral and the canine, which in itself is challenging as it requires restoration of two adjacent implants in a deficient ridge. Dr. Simon was brought onto the team to assess if anything could be done regarding the gingival symetry. Watch the four videos below and leave any comments.
