Guided Bone regeneration , Ridge Expansion and Splitting: Options for the Maxilla

This webinar will take the implant practitioner beyond the socket graft and focus on several treatment options in the maxilla for 1,2, 3 and 4 wall bony sites that are deficient in width. While grafting of the intact extraction socket is now very predictable and commonplace in Implant Dentistry many patients present with existing bony deficiencies that require augmentation prior to implant placement. Guided Bone regeneration, Ridge Splitting and Ridge expansion allow conversion of these deficient bony sites into areas of adequate dimensions for implant placement.

This webinar will cover the following:

  • Classification of bony deficiencies will be discussed.
  • Treatment of sites based on the classification will be recommend.
  • The need for soft tissue enhancement and the timing of such procedures will be discussed.
  • Clinical examples of GBR, Ridge Splitting and Ridge expansion will be shown.
  • Several mechanical techniques to achieve Ridge Splitting and Ridge Expansion will be discussed with the pros and cons of each.
  • Precautions and proper site selection will be illustrated with clinical examples
