This video provides a crash course for implant positioning in implant dentistry. Although sophisticated implant planning software is now available, the reality is that software is “dumb”, and the smart entity is really the practitioner, who must ultimately make the decisions as to where to place the implants. If you don’t know where those implants have to be placed, then you are not delivering a high value treatment. There are some general guidelines (i.e. distance to buccal/lingual plate, apico-coronal position, distance to adjacent teeth, distance to nerve etc.) with regards to implant positioning, which have been developed over the years, which this video will quickly review.
