The last few cases my lab has returned to me have abutments with pointy tops. They say they leave the pointy tops because it increases the occluso-gingival height of the abutment which increases retention. I use my finger to push down on the top of the dental implant to seat it into the dental implant. I have had problems using a cotton roll to cushion the top while I push down. I have considered buying some abutment holders. I have seen ones that are straight or angled. Will these help? Are they actually worth the extra expense?

Dr. L,
Could you make a Triad or super hard putty/ bite registration carrier?
Put the abutments (screwed in) on the master model, use Triad or bite registration to make a carrier, make sure it is retentive and leaves a space for a screw hole, sterilixe the abutments and then use the carrier to press in to place?
I have tried this before and it worked well.
