Comprehensive Treatment Plan for Patient with Significant Periodontal Disease?
Last Updated: Dec 12, 2011
Dr. S. asks:
I have a patient who presents with missing teeth and many of the remaining teeth have significant periodontal disease. I am posting this case to get some input. I am planning for the long term. One treatment option would be a full mouth edentulation followed by placing 4 implants in the maxilla and 2 implants in the mandible and inserting overdentures. Do you think this is too extreme? Are other more conservative treatment plans preferable? What do you recommend?
