Dr. C asks:
Does anyone have experience with Grafton Flex, a demineralized bone fiber product? Do I need to place a separate resorbable collagen membrane over this if I cannot achieve primary closure? What happens if this material becomes exposed to the oral cavity? Thanks.

Flex is a wonderful graft material. Sorry, but you need a RCM (or equivelent)over the flex and a primary closure, without tension. There is a way to get primary closure pretty much 100% of the time. Review your techniques or come by and I’ll show you how. Best of everything.
