Immediate Smile bridge: Remove teeth, Place implants and fit bridges during same-day surgeries.

Immediate Smile® bridge – the name speaks for itself. Materialise Dental’s latest technology is helping implantologists bring the most advanced dental procedures to their practices that promise to put smiles on patients’ faces the moment they walk out the door.

Today, Materialise Dental’s 3D Digital Dentistry is allowing dentists to remove teeth, place implants and fit bridges during same-day surgeries. This technology translates to high patient comfort and fewer visits. Dental professionals are also smiling because the immediate loading procedure is quicker and easier.

Exclusive to Materialise Dental, by combining SimPlant® and SurgiGuide® with CAD/CAM technology (“computer-aided design” and “computer-aided manufacturing”), this workflow is fully digitized.

Simplified and time saving workflow with a fully digital process.

Traditionally when patients required a temporary bridge for immediate loading, dentists needed to make an impression or plaster model and bite registration. After that they sent it to the dental laboratory and waited for one to be made.

But now a full digital workflow allows for quick and easy fabrication of a bridge. All information is already available in the SimPlant® planning so no extra preparations are needed. All dentists need to do is order the bridge with SimPlant® and they will receive it together with the SurgiGuide® before the actual surgery takes place.

“SimPlant® offers us the opportunity to carefully manage our esthetic cases: from diagnostics to implant and prosthetic planning to guided surgery and CAD/CAM restorations,” say Dr. Guido Schiroli and Uli Hauschild, Italy.

Temporary restorations before implant surgery without special components
Since the bridge and SurgiGuide® are delivered together before surgery, this allows dentists to perform the surgery and placement of the bridge in a single visit. The unique part of this procedure comes from the fact that the temporary screw-retained restoration is secured using an intuitive and fast procedure without requiring extra expensive or special components. Dentists can stick to their favorite implant brand.

Predictable esthetics even for cases with tooth extractions
Innovative and versatile, this technology can also be used for predictable esthetics even for cases with tooth extractions. If patients still have their natural teeth but they are lost, tooth extractions are simulated with SimPlant®. The bridge is then made based on implant planning and patients’ natural teeth.

The Immediate Smile® bridge gives patients the opportunity to switch from “natural teeth” to “teeth on implants” in a single visit.

Cumbersome and time-consuming immediate loading procedures before, during and after surgery are now a thing of the past with Materialise Dental’s Immediate Smile ® bridge!

Very interesting because one of the biggest problem for implantology is the temporary ,this a solution very important.

I agree Juan! Most patients don't want to go without teeth during any point of their implant procedure, so the immediate smile bridge offers them the perfect temp restoration that also looks great. Check out this case by Dr. Joshua Campbell http://www.materialisedental.com/view/en/4846662

Your patient may walk out smiling, but when they come back with the non- integrated implants, they aren't gonna be so happy. Bv

I wonder if Baker vinci could expand on his cautionary comment . Are you against such immediate loading or do you worry about the acrylic not being rigid enough ? I am interested because I am thinking of trying intralocks Flat One system

I'm opposed to immediate loading. In my opinion, these are expensive and sometimes life changing procedures. Taking a chance and pushing the limits of sound, evidence based medicine, makes little sense to me. One surgery is more cost effective. I don't consider second stage uncovering as a surgery. This is one of the two indications for mini- implants, if the patient must have teeth, immediately . Bv

I have to retract my last comment. Certain modalities require immediate loading( single stage blades and subs). That said, I use to immediate load a good number of cases. One has to know their patient. Many patients are not reliable with their information. Even the experienced doctor can misjudge certain aspects of a patient ( bruxer, other oral parafunction). So, only in the rare case would I immediate load an implant supported case. The patient can give it tincture of time.

This type of full arch immediate roundhouse bridge should be looked at with caution. Many times when a single implant is placed and " loaded " immediately, it really means " slight occlusion " or " no occlusion " at all till a permanant restoration gets placed. With full arch restoration, it's a bit hard to put it out of the bite. We can talk numbers from different studies that contradict one another but in general I try to be careful before I load such a large restoration, whether splinted or not.

I understand that people don't want to go without teeth, but just as the marine that lost a body part fighting for our freedom, doesn't like it; it is a must. Implants placed in extraction sites need to be grafted, almost everytime. Remember this, we are not responsible for the demise of these patient's mouths and the limitations are just that. I'm all for improving implant dentistry, but only with time tested work. Bv

The beauty of the solution from Materialise is that it is based on 3D diagnostic planning which is critical in determining the viability of immediate load in the pre-planning phase...not chair side.
