Stan, a dental implant patient, asks:
My dentist has just inserted a 3-unit bridge in my left lower jaw supported by 2 dental implants. When he cemented the bridge, there was a noticeable gap between the bottom of the crown and the implant platform for both implants. Food gets stuck in there every time I eat. I told him this but he just told me to clean it out whenever I eat. Can’t something be put in between my crown and implant to keep the food out? Is this normal for implant bridges that you have to clean it every time you eat?

There should not be any kind of gap between the crowns and the implants or between the pontic and the gum.
Yes you should clean everything after each meal, just like your teeth, but nothing should get stuck…
No, there is nothing you can place to keep food off. If the situation is uncomfortable, speak to your treating dentist and he should fix it, even if it has to be re done.
    best of luck

I saw that someone had asked a question regarding the marius bridge, but the question was never answered. Is the Marius bridge a good option?
What does it mean if you are told you do not have enough room for implants?

You have to clean all bridges, crowns teeth etc.
