Interesting Solution for Maxillary Anterior Restoration

This 62 y/o male was referred to me for periodontal surgery and implants #7, #10. Teeth #7-10 were deemed hopeless and were removed during periodontal surgery. The patient indicated that he would like to have a fixed implant retained restoration. Implants were placed in #7, #10 sites and the referring doctor had a transitional removable appliance fabricated to serve as a provisional. During the healing phase the patient realized the benefit of the a removable prosthesis as it provided good lip support and allowed for better access for cleaning. As a result the referring doctor through working with a very skilled lab technician fabricated this interesting and very natural looking zirconia bar retained anterior RPD.

I have done this type of restoration as an implant supported bridge screwed on with matched pink cervical porcelain or zirconia . Patient has to do a little work for hygiene but they are all doing well. Thanks for posting.

It would have looked cosmetically better if the lab technician had made the teeth look exactly as those with exposed roots instead of creating the artificial gum.
