Print This PostDr. R. asks:
I am retrofitting 4 Locator attachments to a mandibular full denture to convert it into an overdenture. The problem I have is that the mandibular denture has a relatively narrow Bucco-Lingual width around the mandibular anterior area – right where I want to retrofit the attachments.
Can I just add pink acrylic to the Lingual of the denture where I need to make it wider to accommodate the attachments? Will this be strong enough? How much thickness of acrylic do I need around the attachments?
Thanks for any help.

Make a brand new denture. It will be a nigthmare with broken acrylic, attachments coming out etc.
better to make new denture with metal bar reinforcement.
sometimes patients do feel uncomfortable with less lingual space due to increase in thckness of lingual flange.
