All on 4 or 6-8 implant supported crown and bridge prosthesis?
Last Updated: Aug 03, 2016
I am planning a fixed implant supported prosthesis in the lower arch in this patient. The amount of bone available on left posterior region is limited, so I will not be able to place more than 7.5 mm length fixture. The root pieces of lower anterior teeth will be removed and immediate implant placement has been planned. Few points I am worried about:
1) Placing too short implant in posterior region (7.5) can lead to an unpredictable result especially with opposite natural dentition
2) To go for all-on-four hybrid prosthesis or to place 6 – 8 implants and go ahead with crown and bridge prosthesis?
3) I have never done an all on four case. I will have an expert place the implants, of course.
4) Also I have never placed less than 8 mm length implants, so this is a concern.
Please give your valuable inputs and help me plan the case with maximum predictable results. Thanks.
