Is the dental implant material important?
Last Updated: Sep 13, 2020
I am a patient about to get some dental implants. I have noticed that some companies use titanium grade 4 in manufacturing their implants, other use titanium grade v(alloy) . The doctor that will place implants on me works only with MIS Implants ,which are made of Ti- 6Al-4V-ELI (Grade 23). Is the material important in the succes in the long run? Will the aluminium or vanadium or any other element from this alloy cause bone resorbtion after years of use?I know that the practitioner experience and my hygiene plays a big role too,but I am curious if the material has anything to do with the long term succes(+10 years).
