Denture over block graft?

Last Updated: Aug 02, 2016

64 y/o male with no significant medical history has 4-5 mm ridge width (adequate vertical height) in maxilla from area 2-15. Looking to place 6 implants for a full arch screw retained prosthetic. Looking at bi-lateral block grafts prior to implant placement. Havent done a block graft on an edentulous patient. What is the recommendation for wearing denture afterwards? No denture at all? How long? Soft liner in denture? Any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated!

I would recommend that you employ a ridge split and increase the arch that what. If done correctly, you may be able to place implants at the same time. It would require a new temporary FUD to be made after the procedure. If the implants are place slightly sub crestal, the denture will not affect them .
