Implant position for lower full arch prosthetics: discussion
Last Updated: Aug 30, 2015
I am curious on doctors thoughts on mandibular flexure. How many doctors are placing implants behind the mental foramen bi-laterally and splinting them together? Just wanted to start a discussion on the subject. I have done it both ways with all implants in front on the foramen and with implants distal to the foramen and splinted with the rest. I have not seen any problems with the splinted implants distal to the foramen and the published literature on the subject seems to be non-conclusive. Would like to hear doctors thoughts and comments and see how many are placing implants distal to foramen.
