Lingual Bone Loss Case: Most Predictable Approach?

Dr. M asks:
Symptomatic # 30. CT images (see below) show some lingual bone loss and what I’m thinking is a crack. My endodontist will give his two cents when he returns from vacation. I’m thinking probably extraction and graft is most predictable approach. Any comments?

Dr. M Looks like a vertical fracture, in which case, extraction and grafting as you described is indicated.

Im not sure where the lingual bone loss is. if it is the first scan slice then that is definitely not bone loss but rather a marrow space and a very nice scan of one at that. the cortical plates are intact therefore if the tooth is unsalvageable then extract and place an immediate implant. send some more slices of the scan if possible
