Mobile Implant: How Long Do I Wait to See if the Graft Worked?
Last Updated: Apr 18, 2011
Dr. R. asks:
I have a patient who is treatment planned for a mandibular overdenture retained by multiple free standing implants. When I brought the patient back for a follow-up, I noted that the free standing implant in #23 site [mandibular left lateral incisor; 32] was mobile. I laid a full thickness flap and found there was a vertical defect on the mesial aspect of the implant which extended 4mm. I placed a bone graft and closed the flap. How long should I wait to see if the graft has worked and I can restore the implant?
