Average Cost for a Dental Implant?

My daughter needs a dental implant. She is worried about the cost. Is there an average cost for a dental implant?

In the US the average cost is 2000 dollars. I have seen them range from 400 to 3000 dollars. However, you should be concerned more with value then with price. The bitterness of low quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten. A good value requires a stable and comfortable outcome with a long service life and someone who will stand behind the product if you have any problems (a 5-10% chance). Also note that the implant is only a part of the cost equation. You need an implant, an abutment, and a crown (assuming single tooth replacement). The implant will run around $2000, the abutment will run $600-$900, and the crown will run another $1200-$1800. Do you need a tooth removed before the implant is placed ($)? Do you need a graft or some other site development before the implant is placed ($$$)? Implant services are expensive, and the good news is that when they are done right they are worth every penny. Good luck!

The insurance approved 1500 approx. for implant, 760 for crown, and other prep work of about $600. On top of that our dentist charged 600 for implanting the crown, which insurance did not approve. So we ended up paying about 2000 for a tooth after insurance paid 1430 for the services. We have a PPO plan.
