Bone Grafting and Pregnancy
Last Updated: Jan 09, 2013
I have to have 7 teeth extracted on my front, lower jaw due to bone loss and infection and the oral surgeon says that I need to have a bone graft. I am not currently pregnant, but was hoping to start trying a few months after the graft. The information I am finding says that you should wait at least a year after grafting to get pregnant. Due to my age, I really do not want to do this. My oral surgeon never mentioned this, and I did express my concern with pregnancy. He only said to wait until after the graft due to needing anesthesia. What are your thoughts on this? How long after the graft can I get pregnant? Is there an alternative that can be used?
