Can there be side effects from getting a collagen membrane after an extraction?

I got a collagen membrane put in after having teeth extracted and have been sick on and off for 2 months. I didn’t put the two together until my mom and I were talking about it. Is it possible for the collagen membrane to have this kind of side effect?
