Gums Are Receding and I Wear Dentures: Are Implants an Option?

The loss of your four front teeth since you were twelve probably means that you don't have the necessary bone to place implants there. The choice to get implants is a personal one, and is usually made when the person that wears the dentures needs them to hold better, be more stable, feel more secure or be more comfortable. If you don't have any of those issues, you may not need implants, but after you loose your teeth, implants are the only thing that may help you keep the bone you have left which slowly diminishes as you wear dentures. If you get implants you will have to do a good job cleaning around them (which is easy) or you can have gum problems around them just like you can with natural teeth. Hope this helps and good luck!
