I have lower dentures and no gums: what are my options?

I have lower dentures but I have no gums for the dentures to hook to so I have been told I would do better by getting dental implants because my dentures come undone and move around in my mouth all the time. What are my best options? Would 2 dental implants be enough and with no gums will they be able to do implants?

Yes, you can put 2 implants with oball's and working good because reduced the movement, this option cheaper. its posible put the 4 implants and you have more retention with one fixed bar , there are many options. The gum is not the biggest problem when you want dental implants, the big problem is the bone. For that reason we need a CT Scan or panoramic xray, and study models. If you need more help write me maybe I can help you with some friends in USA because I work and living in Costa Rica

I have hardly no gum in the front but I have some in the back for a lower denture to set on. I have been told that by jaw bone is only the size of a pencil and they won't make me dentures. My gum is good on the uppers I am wearing old ones and I can wear them but I broke my jaw and it had to heal on it's own because they could not put in screws and they are not in line and I chew on my dentures all the time. I need some one to make them. I would not hold them responsible If I could not wear them. I would sign a paper on this. Have not been able to find a surgeon to implant bone In. Please help me.responsible .

Yes, but that is the least we can do for you. There are many options available based on amount of bone available. I have done a lot this cases like yours that patient comes with a denture and leaves my office with full fixed bridge the same day. You may be and probably are a good candidate for it. But before giving you an answer we need go do full exam, ct scan,... to give the best option based on your bone availability and. Budget.

The standard of care for a full lower denture is the placement of two or more implants to secure the denture, especially if there is little bone left. There are tons of options available, depending on how much you can spend.

Hello Two Implants are sufficient to give good retention and can stop the movements of the denture but if you can go for 3 or 4 implants that would be the best option for long term as well as your chewing efficiency. Or you can go for all on 4/6 fixed prosthesis if you can afford. Have a nice day...

Its difficult to comment without x rays. but one thing is sure . Implant is THE modality to replace lost teeth. Getting fixed teeth is best . At the cost of two implants in U.S. - lower all on 4 with angulated or all on 6 if there is enough bone in posterior region can be done. Its possible to give immediate loading on the same day. Patient has to choose options.

I had immediate dentures put in six months ago. The lower dentures do not fit,and have never fit. I have returned to my dentist numerous times, and they have adjusted them several times, but they still do not fit. My last visit I was told I should maybe see a specialist dentist, and see if he can help. I am 73 and on a fixed income, and I don’t have the money for that. I am already paying 143.00 a month on these dentures,I can’t wear. Do I have any options? Thank you for any advise!

Was in an accident in 2011. Hurt my cervical and head. At the time they didnt realize my jaw was involved unfortunately it was to late. I had all the top pulled. Waited a year n a half for very bad dentures. Looked like Horse teeth. Then finally got a set that fit. But my gums on the top had already shrank that they said I needed gum drops. The oral surgeon who did the last of the extractions was to put them in and didnt. Only to find out later I got Alot of bone shards because he was sloppy and had his practice closed a month later due to negligence n malpractice. So my top I have to paste. The bottom I have 5 really bad left the gums have already shrunk around them. Eating is very difficult. I was told I need implants due to my Medical issues, but it's very very difficult to get insurance to pay for them. What can I do?
