How do I know if I need a bone graft before having a dental implant? xray?

I have a bridge – lower back teeth – last tooth has an infection. I want to have a dental implant, if possible. I am wondering how I would know if I need a bone graft before the dental implant. Does this show on an xray? Other questions I have about bone grafts are: what can be side effects, what medicine do you take if an infection? Do you do the bone graft at same time as implant- or how long in between the two processes. How long is actual recovery – give range 1-3monts etc. Thank you for your information

A well informed implantologist will require a CBCT scan prior a making and staging the procedures you may require. Seek the services of an experienced implantologist to discuss & explain the treatment plan.
