SIN Implants: Anyone with experience with these?

I am a dentist in Canada. Â I have a new patient who had 4 SIN Implants [http://www.sinimplante.com.br/\] installed in Brazil. Â I need to restore these implants. Â I have located a distributor in the US but I have not been able to find a distributor in Canada. Â Does anyone know how I can order the components I need? Â Anybody else in Canada installing or restoring these implants? Any thoughts on this system?

I know this might sound a little crazy but I'd tell the patient to go back to Brazil to have the implants restored. I see this sometimes where the pt wants to save money and goes to Mexico and comes back with some bizarre implant installed in questionable bone, I would not want the liability. That said if they look great then have the patient inderstand that you arenot responsible if they fail for any free revisions and restore. Remember this is a new patient and you don't know the DDS or the system. Why not get the dds email and ask him.

Don't forget Brazil is not Mexico. We have quite high standards for implants placement. Even for those implants fabricated here. So don't come with the idea that american and european implants are the best. If the implants are well placed and the bone is fine, why would you send the patient back to restore them?

In the US we have the FDA and Very litigious patients. It is not a generalized criticism of other countries, I have had wonderful success with BTI products from Spain. My point is to know what product you are using and that the company is reliable so that you can justify its use. There are MANY poor products out there including US companies and as doctors we need to make the judgement calls for what is best for the patient. If the implant is not available in Canada you may be assuming risk also if you can't get parts you can't get parts. I'm curious why the restoring doctor would not just contact the original doctor for info. When I treat a case I work with the restoring dds to make sure that he is comfortable with the implant system. Even in the US the systems are not standardized and it can be a big headache for the restoring dds.No slight intended I did not say us or euro are best that is your interpretation.

I'm a brazilian implantologist and I know very well the local and international markets. I can tell you that most of the Brazilians brands are copy of Americans/ Europeans companies. SIN implants are basicly 3i copy ( the founder of this company was an 3i dealer in his oringin), so it migth be compatible... If you need anything new, please get in touch

Most are external hex. Try a 3i or Nobel impression coping and away you go. Make sure implants have sat for at least six months before proceding.

SIN external hex implants are a "copy" of Biomet 3i implants... compatible with so many prosthetic abutments out there... if the implant is OK (regarding soft and hard tissues) you won't have a big problem restoring it,

SIN has lines of external hex, Internal hex and Morse tapper prosthetic connection implants, perhaps if you post and x-ray we can determine the type and size and give you the part number to order from the US distributor. As for the Brazilian professionals, lmplantology is a Specialty since 1990 and requires 2 years and more than 1000 hours of clinical and didactic instruction. There are currently 7190 Implantologysts registered with with the Federal Council of Odontology. There are hundreds of Masters and Doctors of Implantology as well as many renowned international researchers, As for the quality of SIN implants, these are the certifications they currently have: - EN ISO 9001: 2008, Certificado de Sistema de Gestão da Qualidade, emitido pela TÜV Rheinland LGA Products GmbH - EN ISO 13485: 2003 + AC: 2007, Certificado de Sistema de Gestão da Qualidade para Dispositivos Médicos, emitido pela TÜV Rheinland LGA Products GmbH - CE diretiva 93/42/ECC anexo II, artigo 3, Certificado de Sistema de Garantia da Qualidade para Dispositivos Médicos (marca CE da Comunidade Europeia), emitido pela TÜV Rheinland LGA Products GmbH - Autorização do US Department of Health & Human Services para comecialização nos Estados Unidos, selo FDA (Food and Drugs Administration)

Thank you for posting this reliable information. I am a prosthodontist in Canada and have a patient that had 4 SIN implants placed in the mandible. This was restored with a hybrid fixed acrylic prosthesis using 'mini abutments'. I am not sure if these abutments are a part of the SIN catalogue of components. Could you please provide me the contact information for the company so I could get in touch with them. Thank you for your help.
