Auto-immune Hepatitis and Dental Implants: Contraindications?

I have a patient in her 60s who has recently been diagnosed with Auto-immune Hepatitis. She requires 6-implants, three in the posterior maxilla with simultaneous sinus lift and three in lower posterior mandible. Is her Auto-immune Hepatitis a relative or absolute contra-indication to proceeding with her implants? Or is the Auto-immune Hepatitis not a significant factor and I should proceed with the implants?

Yikes I would get medical clearance and see if she is stable. Perhaps place one mandibular implant and see if it integrates. I don't think liver function is involved in bone metabolism but her overall health and immunity are risk factors. Good Luck.

It would prudent to review meds. If this is in fact an auto immune condition I would suspect immune supressive drugs which will play havoc with healing. Also if extensive liver damage coagulation problems could present during placement.

Make sure the patient is producing platelets. People with liver issues don't stop bleeding.
