Cobalt Chrome Framework for Implant Restorations: Is this a Viable Alternative?
Last Updated: Dec 19, 2011
Mr. B. a dental laboratory technician asks:
I have been working with many implant systems and framework designs and materials since 1987. Recently I have been using sintered cobalt chrome metal frameworks for implant restorations. These can be fabricated to fit passively and have the advantage of being far cheaper than milled titanium frameworks. I was wondering if some of the technicians or dentists have also been using this framework material and what are your experiences with it? How does it compare to titanium? Do you think this is a viable alternative to titanium?
