Diabetic: Can I Get an Implant?

I am 63 years old. I have had diabetes since 2006. HbA1c is currently 7%. Is it safe for me to go for dental implant? I require one implant – lower jaw No.6

as far as ur bone quality is good,with extra sufficient width & depth,excellent oral hygine maintenance,bld sugar below 200 post meal,i see no prb

first of all good to know the HbA1c, you can have implant treatment but you should have a good oral hygiene, intimate contact both with your dentist for maintenance phase of treatment and your physician not to allow the blood glucose raise any more than what is now by regimen and medication. good luck

You can definitely have an implant. The maintainance post op and controle of your diabetes are critical! There will still be an increased risk for failure.

Of course you can. As far as your diabetes is under control and your hygiene is excellent, it is OK. Remember to participate the follow up sessions. Good luck
