When replacing two adjacent mandibular incisors, we have the choice to place two implants vs. one implant with a cantilever. In most cases, one implant with a cantilever is recommended. Even if there is enough inter-radicular bone to place 2 implants with proper inter-implant distance, because the mandibular incisor crown form is so narrow makes it very challenging to achieve proper emergence profile with 2 implant crowns. If only one implant is placed in the right location, the lab can fabricate a naturally-appearing restoration to replace the two incisors.
