Compatibility between 3M MDI Implants and the MDL System?

Does anyone know if the MDI (3M) and MDL (Intra-Lock) mini-implant systems are compatible?  I have a patient that I have to replace a mini-implant on and I have the 3M MDI surgical box.  The issue is that the MDI implants are no longer being sold, at least here in Spain, and so I have to place an MDL implant. Will I be able to use the MDI surgical box (ratchet, drivers, etc) to place an MDL implant?  Thank you.

Yes. Placement protocol for MDL implant is a bit simpler as it doesn’t require much finger instrumentation but yes you could use MDI surgical kit.

I don’t have info about Intralock and 3M (MDI), But I have used 3M (MDI) tools on Sterngold several times. They are same except that they don’t make 1.8mm diameter sizes as in 3M.

MDL system offers a better implant surface: OSSEAN. Very much documented in the scientific literature.
Also offers more prosthetic versatility, with Solid abutments cemented on OBall, Can also use Ti Base to do Zirconium crowns on Tibase.
