Identify External Hex 3.35mm Implant Fixture?

Dr. D. asks:
I have a new patient who presents with an implant fixture that I do not recognize. I would like to restore the implant which has an external hex, is cylindrical and is 3.35mm in diameter. I have removed the screw that was broken inside it. Any idea what implant fixture this is? Please see the attached radiograph. Thanks.

Try whatimplantisthat or consult your lab. I had this same problem and found these avenues helpful.

What does the apical portion of the fixture look like? It seems closest to the Branemark original fixture design. On another note, are you at all concerned with the location of the implant? Based on the film you supplied, it appears very close/overlapping the root of the adjacent tooth. I assume that is just angulation of the film. Do you have a bitewing?

I agree that it looks like an original Branemark implant. Their Branemark Mark III is still sold and has the external hex. This one is not the Mark III or Mark IV which are still currently sold, but probably earlier. You might still get parts from Nobel Biocare USA, LLC (formerly Branemark): https://shoponline.nobelbiocare.com/b2b_nobel/nobel/init.do

I send these to Attachments International. They can help identify, and often have the components that I need. The contact is Darwin. Before contacting them, I would ask the patient when it was placed (1 year, 30 years) and get an apical x-ray. Both are crucial bits of information. I want it to be a 3.3 mm Branemark Mark III, but your flange is not right.

The screw access hole is not deep enough, and there is something already in there. It appears to be broken, with the remainder of the collar and screw still in the mouth.

I think that this implant could be a "structure implant "from Dr Scortecci from Nice / France .
